Georgia’s Bull Power Group Begins Development Program
 Georgia’s
Bull Power Group began their third bull
development program by delivering 54 bulls
to the farm of Terry Chandler, located near
Danielsville, in northeast Georgia. This
year’s consignors include Randy Daniel,
Billy Moss, John Callaway, Dwight Cooper,
Burt Jeffords, Larry Rodgers, Chris Throne,
Mike McCravy, David Gazda, Todd Alford, Alan
Verner and Tony Padgett.
Included in the group are 26 SimAngus, 4
Simmentals, 4 Balancers, 3 ChiAngus and 17
Angus bulls, all born in September and
October 2006. Bulls were delivered to the
development site on June 4 and will be
weighed and go on test June 20. Bulls have
been vaccinated for BRSV, Pasteurella, 5-Way
Leptospirosis, 7-Way Clostridium, IBR/PI3
and Haemophilus Somnus and were vaccinated
twice before delivery with a wart vaccine.
At delivery they were also tested for
Persistently-infected BVD. Any bulls testing
positive will be removed from the
development
center.
Bulls are sired by some of the leading AI
bulls in their respective breeds including
R&R Warehouse, New Design 878, 3C Macho,
Momentum, Black Perfector, Dream On, Venom,
Traveler 004, Power Alliance, Partisover
Precision, BC Matrix, Sitz Alliance 6595,
EXT and TC Freedom.
The bulls are being developed in three, five
acre traps that contain hybrid Bermuda grass
and on self-feeders consuming a by-product
ration designed for 3 to 3 1/2 lbs. per day
average daily gain that promotes maximum
development without causing excessive fat
accumulation. Previous Bull Power buyers
have commented how Bull Power bulls have
held up in their first breeding season as
long-yearlings which is attributed
to how they are developed.
 Terry
Chandler provides daily management for the
bulls located on his farm near Danielsville.
Terry’s daughter, Kim, assists her father in
the daily operations which include managing
feed bunks, daily health care, weighing
animals and sorting bulls when necessary.
In October, the group of bulls will be frame
score measured, semen tested and ultrasound
measurements taken in preparation for the
sale held the last Friday in November.
