Bull Power VII

The Bull Power VII sale will be held on Friday , November 4th at 12 Noon, EST, at the Partisover Ranch, Colbert, Georgia. Colbert is located 12 miles northeast of Athens, Georgia on Highway 72. Sixty eight bulls, featuring Angus, SimAngus, Simmental, Hereford, Balancer and Charolais were delivered in mid-May to the Terry Chandler farm near Danielsville, Georgia where they began their development period. Bulls were divided in to three equal groups and placed in eight acre grass traps. Bulls were placed on self-feeders that contain a commodity based ration of soyhulls, corn gluten pellets and corn screenings. The ration is designed to get 3.0 to 3.5 average daily gains. Bulls also have access to free-choice hay. Bulls were weighed on test June 9th and will be weighed off-test on September 29th. ADG for 112 days will be calculated but gains usually run between 2.8 to 3.5 lbs/day. Our goal has always been to allow the bulls to "develop" rather than push them for high ADG.

Bulls will be ultrasounded for carcass traits on September 29th and semen tested on October 11.
