Bull Power Females |
|
Welcome to the Bull Power Female link. Our
Bull Power female consignors appreciate your
interest. The Bull Power Group started the
female sale to assist our customers in
marketing their best open and bred heifers
another reason to buy
Bull Power bulls!
With the smallest calf-crop in this country
since the early 60’s and much better weather
conditions than we’ve had in 5 years and
great Fall pastures this is definitely a
great time to add females to your herd. Our
consignors this year bring you a strong set
of both bred and open heifers. Several of
the breds will have calves by sale day.
Many are AI sired and several are bred AI
offering you great commercial genetics.
Contact any of the consignors with any of
your questions. |

Cotton
Boswell, a new consignor, brings a strong
set of open heifers sired by some the Angus
breed’s leading bulls. The average weight on
these 12 heifers was 750 lbs on August 25.
No doubt by sale day these heifers will
weigh over 850 lbs. In addition these
heifers are all mates to the load of steers
that sold thru the Madison County Feeder
Calf sale for $91cwt and averaged 850 lbs.
With years of using performance tested bulls
from Ironwood Farms in Iowa and also Tifton
and Calhoun test stations, these heifers
will strengthen any herd in the southeast.

Another first-time consignor to Bull Power,
Ken Cawthon, from Greensboro, brings six
half-sisters, all sired by the ninth overall
high indexing bull, a Simmental, from the
Tifton test station. This bull was sired by
the ABS Global herd sire ES Dakota, a bull
known for adding growth and power to his
progeny. The average weight of these heifers
on August 15 was 780 lbs so look for a stout
set of eye-appealing heifers on November 6.
These heifers are out of commercial Angus
cows and you’ll be proud to own this group. |

Nestled between two mountains in northwest
Georgia is Pleasant Valley Farms, one of the
most picturesque farms in Georgia. Managed
by Steve and his brother David, a local
large animal veterinarian, a top set of 200
commercial cows are managed on fescue and bermuda pastures in a very practical manner.
Calves are born in January thru March,
weaned in September, and steers are sold in
truck-load lots. Last years order-buyer
commented that Pleasant Valley’s steer
calves were the best he purchased all year.
When I visited this farm in August to select
these heifers there were 50 heifers in the
replacement pasture and Steve said “get the
six you want”. Angus and SimAngus bulls from
Partisover Ranch have been used over the
years and uniformity is quite evident.
These cattle know how to make a living on
grass so if you think grass is the way
cattle should be managed carry these home.
You won’t be disappointed! |

Parrish Akins and family are bringing a top
set of bred heifers to Bull Power V. Nearly
all are bred AI to top bulls and most are
sired by a Dream On son purchased in the
Bull Power 1 sale. In addition, several
will have babies at side by sale day.
Parrish believes in their genetics so much
he would like to buy back the calves from
these matings if the new owner agrees. What
a deal! After breeding them AI they were
cleaned up with MM 878 7111, a son of New
Design 878, purchased in the Bull Power IV
sale from Mike McCravy. These heifers will
make a great addition to anyone’s herd.

Barry Cronic brings two really good heifers
to Bull Power V. Both have a tick of
Hereford in them from Barry using top Horned
Hereford bulls a few years ago. Both are
sired by the Select Sires Angus bull, GAR
Retail Product. Both are bred to the Select
Sires bull GAR Solution. These heifers come
from years of using the best Angus bulls
available AI and Barry feeds his cattle in
Kansas so carcass value is important to him
and bred in these cattle. These two heifers
are big-bodied females that were picked from
60 replacement females. You’ll like what you
see. |
